NAMI Walks for the Mind of America
Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 10:00am
Sand Point / Magnuson Park, Seattle, Washington

NAMI Walks for the Mind of America is a nationwide fundraising and mental health awareness program that is being held in more than 70 communities around the country in 2008, including right here in Washington. It is expected that these walks will raise approximately 8 million dollars in 2008 for NAMI and the mental health services it provides to thousands of families across the country. Over the next several months we will provide help and ideas on ways to make your involvement in NAMIWALK 2008 fun and a huge success.

There are THREE things you can do right away

First: There is a wide-range of corporate sponsorship opportunities available to local companies and businesses relating to the Walk.  There are specific sponsorship levels, each with different levels of recognition. Shana and NAMI Greater Seattle will work with you, providing information and paperwork.

Second: Consider being a Family or Corporate Team Captain. Team Captains develop teams of friends, family, and coworkers who participate in and raise funds for the Walk. The annual walk is a fun and rewarding way to help make a difference!

Anyone interested in information on how his or her company or organization can sponsor the Walk, or if you would like to be a Team Captain, please contact Shana Allen at 206-214-7727 or email her at shana@lments.net.

Third:  You could join the NAMI GS Volunteers Team and be a walker, or you could sponsor one of our walkers:  Join the NAMI GS Volunteers team ...
